Core Orchestra Musicians — Percussion
James Dallas, Principal Percussion James J. Dallas is presently serving in his 24th season as principal percussionist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Dallas has been a featured soloist with the orchestra on several occasions. He has also played percussion with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Delaware Symphony, and has performed for numerous Broadway show tours, commercial pop artists, ballet and opera productions. Dallas was a featured clinician at the Percussive Arts Society International Conventions in 1998 in Orlando, 2001 in Nashville and again in 2002 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the PAS Orchestral planning committee from 1999 through 2005. Dallas received a B.M. in percussion from the University of Miami and an M.M. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he was a student of Michael Bookspan. Dallas is endorsed by the Zildjian Cymbal Co. James Dallas is generously underwritten by Fran & John Beamer for the 2007-08 season.
