Suzanne Kirton, Principal Flute Suzanne Kirton received a professional studies diploma from the Juilliard School and a B.M. degree from Florida State University as well as an M.M. degree from Boston Conservatory. Kirton previously held the principal flute position for the Symphonia Virtuosi and the Rome Festival Orchestra. She has performed in summer festivals in Aspen. Kirton has been an adjunct professor at Florida International University for several years and has freelanced extensively in the Miami area. She has been principal flute of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993 and is active in Naples as a teacher, soloist and as a performer in chamber music programs. Martha Miller Cornell, Assistant Principal Flute/Second Flute/Piccolo Martha Miller Cornell earned her B.M. degree from Wayne State University and a M.M. degree from Northwestern University. As a Fulbright Grant recipient, she pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. Before moving to Naples, Cornell had an active freelance career in Detroit and Chicago, where she played with the Detroit and Chicago symphonies as well as the Grant Park and Ravinia Festival orchestras. In addition to her orchestral work, Cornell teaches Suzuki flute. She has been a member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1989. Martha Miller Cornell is generously underwritten by Nancy F.
