Adam Satinsky, Principal Cello
Adam Satinsky began his cello studies at age 6. When he was 12 he won the concerto competition at Interlochen National Music Camp and began studying with Stephen Kates at Peabody Preparatory. There he received chamber music coaching from Earl Carlyss of the Juilliard Quartet and sat principal chair of the Peabody Institute Chamber Orchestra. Satinsky received a bachelor’s degree and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and in his senior year won first prize at the American String Teachers Association national competition. From 1992-95 he was in Janos Starker’s studio at Indiana University where he earned an Artist’s Diploma and won the concerto competition. Professionally Satinsky has held the principal position in the Charleston Symphony and played summers at the Grand Teton, Bellingham and Colorado Music Festivals. He has been featured as a recitalist on concert series in Vermont, New York, Maryland and Iowa. Satinsky has served as principal cellist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997. John Marcy, Assistant Principal Cello
John Marcy joined the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra in 1991. Born in France and raised in South Bend, Ind., Marcy began playing the cello at age 10. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin Conservatory, where his teachers were Norman Fischer and Richard Kapuscinski. He also earned a master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Pamela Frame.
Marcy has performed in a number of music festivals, most recently the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder. Along with his wife, Naples Philharmonic Orchestra principal oboist Judy Christy, he performs in the Christy Oboe Quartet, which recently released a CD of music by Mozart, Britten, J.C. Bach and James Stephenson. John Marcy is generously underwritten by Donald E. & Mary Anne Ryks for the 2007-08 season.

Thomas May, Assistant Principal Cello
Thomas May received his B.M. degree from Augustana College in 1985 and his M.M. degree from the University of Illinois in 1988. May has pursued graduate studies at Indiana University. He has studied with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Janina Ehrlich, Don Moline and Alice Baker. He has also performed with many orchestras including the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony, the Quad-City Symphony and the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Italy.

Eric Dochinger
Eric Dochinger, cello, received his B.M. degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He continued his studies at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Dochinger has been with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1992. He is also a member of the Neapolitan Quartet.

Susan Moyer
Susan Moyer, cello, is the newest member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Moyer was a member of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra for 10 seasons, the final two seasons as assistant principal. Recently, Moyer completed her doctoral coursework at the University of Miami and is currently finishing her dissertation. Moyer received her B.M. degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and her M.M. degree from the University of Akron. Moyer is a member of the Chamber Music Palm Beach and the Dalbergi Trio.
