Who are your favorite composers? Brahms, Prokofiev, Shostakovich.

What career path would you have taken had you not chosen music? Probably biology. Working in a lab doing some kind of research.

What's currently playing on your iPod or CD player? Punch Brothers, Radiohead, Ben Folds.

Your hobbies and interests: Tennis, golf, movies, food, old tube amps.

Some little-known, yet interesting facts about you: I love cool pens.

Funniest concert moment:Inhaling a bug playing Lion King at a pops concert. It was gross.

Daily practice rituals: Taking the hardest licks in my music and practicing them over and over, slow to fast – with a ballgame on.

The question you're asked most often about your instrument (and your answer): "Why did you choose the French horn?" My answer: "In fifth grade, they needed one in the school band."
